Giving time to wealth by giving back

I joined Van Lanschot Kempen with the exciting opportunity to establish a dedicated department focused on social impact and philanthropy. Since my studies in sociology, I’ve been passionate about helping people give back to communities and drive positive social and environmental change.

Over the past year and a half, we’ve built something truly distinctive: a department that specialises in helping clients allocate their wealth to far more than financial assets. Whether through donating collectables such as artwork, establishing or supporting non-governmental organisations, or directly funding social impact initiatives. Our mission is to empower our clients and our organisation to create meaningful change with wealth.

We work closely with many teams across Van Lanschot Kempen, enabling us to tap into the impact investing expertise of our different segments. And through our philanthropic initiatives, we provide client services that go beyond establishing charitable trusts or making donations.

We offer clients a broad range of opportunities to transform their wealth into legacies that benefit society, often in ways deeply connected to their personal values. We take the time to understand their interests and beliefs, then present tailored options before designing a bespoke wealth plan. In these conversations, I draw on my experience at the Rijksmuseum, where I worked for the Foundation and later served as Head of Development. Over more than 24 years at the museum, I witnessed firsthand how individuals can leave a lasting impact in ways that align with their ambitions and sense of purpose.

What I value most about working with the team at Van Lanschot Kempen is that social impact and philanthropy extend well beyond our wealth planning services. I’m proud of the remarkable work and noble causes we support through the Van Lanschot Kempen Foundation and our bespoke impact investing initiatives.
