At Van Lanschot Kempen, our Compliance Financial Crime team is committed every day to protecting our organization and clients against financial crime. We develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to prevent financial crime, such as money laundering, terrorism financing, corruption, sanctions, tax integrity, and market abuse. The team is closely connected with all levels of the organization, works closely with stakeholders, and participates in various risk committees.

For our Financial Crime Team, we are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer with at least 5 - 10 years of work experience in Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing.

Your Job 

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer with expertise in Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing. In this role, you are the primary point of contact for stakeholders in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines, adopting a proactive approach to compliance. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are results-oriented, and have a hands-on mentality.

You are responsible for:

• Compliance strategies related to Market Abuse risks;

• Strategic projects to implement new Market Abuse surveillance technology;

• Policies and guidelines for an effective assessment of Market Abuse alerts and Personal Account Dealing (PAD) requests, as well as timely follow-up on relevant actions;

• Providing education and training for employees in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing;

• The overall risk control framework in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing;

• Acting as a sparring partner for colleagues throughout the organization in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing.

Your talents

You gain energy from collaboration, are communicatively skilled both verbally and in writing, and are organizationally sensitive. You work accurately and carefully when assessing risks at a detailed level. You feel confident as an advisor who stands firm in explaining and applying laws and regulations, and you can provide practical and tailored advice.

Additionally, you possess:

  • A university degree in law, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 - 10 years of experience in a similar role within the financial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing.
  • Extensive experience in assessing Market Abuse monitoring scenarios, cases, reports, and following up on them (e.g., submitting a STOR, etc.), with corresponding good IT skills.
  • The ability to optimize the parameter settings of the Market Abuse monitoring system with skills to concretely direct necessary changes.
  • Knowledge of systems for Market Abuse surveillance (such as Fidessa, Bloomberg).
  • Relevant experience in monitoring compliance with internal procedures regarding Personal Account Dealing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, analytical, critical.
  • A high level of integrity and ethical awareness.
  • Very good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbal and written.
