As a Director Strategic Communications, you play a key role in shaping, strengthening and protecting Van Lanschot Kempen’s reputation. You are responsible for advancing our narrative across all external and internal communications and channels in a clear and consistent way. Being part of a fast growing, specialist independent wealth manager, you can make a real impact through your judgement, initiative and expertise. You bring perspective and calm judgement to complex communication challenges and are comfortable operating at senior level.

Furthermore, you are responsible for:

  •  Managing financial communications in close collaboration with Investor Relations, including the annual report
  • Drafting, editing and reviewing press releases, speeches, Q&As, op‑eds and reports
  • Managing and expanding relationships with key media and other external stakeholders
  • Acting as a spokesperson for Van Lanschot Kempen when appropriate
  • Overseeing the strategic content calendar across Van Lanschot Kempen and acting as editorial lead
  • Advising senior leadership and board members on media relations, messaging and public positioning
  • Monitoring the external environment to identify opportunities, themes and reputational risks
  • Playing an active role in issue and crisis management

 You also have:

  • 5–10 years of experience in external or corporate communications, preferably within a corporate and financial environment , or in financial journalism
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in both Dutch and English, with a strong eye for quality and consistency
  • Proven experience managing complex communication projects and delivering high‑quality output under time pressure
  • The ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively with colleagues and senior stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a natural ability to build trusted relationships
  • An interest in the opportunities AI and new technologies bring to the communications profession
