Data Engineer - Ongoing Due Diligence

As a data engineer at Van Lanschot Kempen, you will be responsible for designing and coding our new Know Your Customer (KYC) solution in Azure to support our organisation.In this function, you combine your expertise in both SQL, spark, python and designing to develop our new KYC solution.

Your role involves designing, building, and maintaining the application and workflows, ensuring a smooth flow of data from various sources while securing a seamless and intuitive user experience. The new solution enables our support and customer organization in their KYC responsibilities. The solution aims to detect data-driven events and determine which events are triggers for manual review. This is based on risk triggers supplied by the business. In the future, we foresee data mining combined with AI is required to detect different events. We envision workflows supported by the solution to play a crucial role in assessing and managing the due diligence risk.

In addition, you have:

  • minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer.
  • completed a bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field with a strong technological component.
  • experience with SQL, Python and pyspark
  • experience with end to end data projects (ETL) on databricks
  • experience with data orchestration tools like ADF or Airflow
  • experience with IaC (Bicep) and CI/CD (we use devops, YAML)
  • ability to function well in a professional and innovative work environment.
  • curiosity, structured work approach, and enjoyment in taking initiative and connecting with customers and colleagues.
