At Van Lanschot Kempen, our Compliance Financial Crime team is dedicated to safeguarding our organization and clients from financial crimes. We develop, implement, and uphold policies and procedures to prevent financial crime, such as money laundering, terrorist financing, corruption, sanctions, tax integrity and market abuse. The team is closely connected with all levels of the organization, works closely with stakeholders and participates in various risk committees.

For our Financial Crime Team, we are looking for a Compliance Officer with 2 - 5 years of work experience in Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing.

We are seeking a Compliance Officer with expertise in Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing. Together with a senior colleague, you are responsible for the market abuse surveillance and in that role you are a contact person for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing alerts and signals from the first line in the area of Market Abuse and following up on the resulting actions.
  • Evaluating Personal Account Dealing requests from employees of VLK.
  • Providing education and training for employees in the area of Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing.
  • Advice on controls related to the risk control framework of Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing.
  • Oversee the translate of (changes in) laws and regulations in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing into guidance and work instructions.
  • Acting as a contact person for colleagues within both Compliance and the rest of the organization in the area of Market Abuse Monitoring and Personal Account Dealing.

Your talents

You get energy from collaboration, are communicatively skilled both orally and in writing, and organisationally sensitive. You work accurately and carefully when assessing risks at a detailed level. You feel confident as an advisor who stands firm in explaining and applying laws and regulations, and you can provide practical and tailored advice.

Additionally, you have:

  • A degree in law, economics, or a related field.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a similar role within the financial sector.
  • Specific knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the area of Market Abuse and Personal Account Dealing.
  • Experience in assessing Market Abuse monitoring scenarios, alerts, and following up on them (e.g., submitting a STOR, etc.).
  • Experience in optimizing the parameter settings of the Market Abuse monitoring system.
  • Knowledge of market abuse surveillance systems (such as Steeleye, Fidessa, Bloomberg).
  • Experience in monitoring compliance with internal procedures regarding Personal Account Dealing.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, analytical, critical.
  • High level of integrity and ethical awareness.
  • A very good command of the Dutch and English languages, both orally and in writing.
