Anti Financial Crime (AFC) Expert

Create your own future

What makes us unique is that we operate from a single department (Client Monitoring). Here, all activities in the field of Anti Financial Crime, such as Transaction Monitoring, CDD, Sanctions, and Fraud, take place. This allows our (senior) specialists to vary in the type of work they do and to develop in multiple areas, both broadly and deeply.

As an Anti Financial Crime (AFC) Expert, you are partly responsible for shaping and further professionalizing the Quality Assurance (QA) framework of our department. You also guide our senior specialists, who, in addition to conducting complex investigations, also support QA tasks, and you report clearly and concisely to the Management Team of Client Monitoring.

With the size of VLK, we further offer the benefits of a professional team and the opportunity to personally speak with and get to know commercial colleagues.

Additionally, you are involved in:

  • Preparing complex investigations handled by the CDD Acceptance and Exit Committee.
  • Implementation projects of new relevant legislation.
  • Identifying methods and trends in the field of financial economic crime.
  • Proactively thinking about efficiency improvements, even beyond the scope of your own work.

Your talents

Analytical, eager to learn, communicative. This is how we can best describe you as a Anti Financial Crime (AFC) Expert. Talents that you use to guide our analysts and business in a constantly changing world every day. By thinking further and asking questions, you enable them to serve our customers in a customer-oriented and proactive manner and assess risks accurately.

In addition, you have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant demonstrable work experience in the following areas: Transaction Monitoring, CDD, FEC signals, and Sanctions.
  • Extensive experience in coaching and guiding (senior) specialists in the field of financial crime.
  • A completed university education, preferably in law, criminology, or economics.
  • Extensive knowledge of the WWFT, Sanctions legislation, and money laundering methods and techniques.
  • Good knowledge and command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written. Knowledge of the French language is not required but is an advantage.
