Specialist Anti Financial Crime

Create your own future

As a Specialist in Anti Financial Crime (AFC), you are responsible for independently carrying out monitoring activities and/or client investigations. What makes us unique is that we operate from a single department (Client Monitoring) where all activities related to Financial Crime, such as Transaction Monitoring, CDD, Sanctions, and Fraud, take place. This set-up allows us to offer variety in the type of work you do and opportunities to develop in multiple areas, either broadly or in-depth. Together, we look at where you can excel. With the size of Van Lanschot Kempen, we offer the benefits of a professional team as well as the opportunity to personally meet and get to know commercial colleagues.

You enjoy putting your talents to use as a Specialist (AFC) at Van Lanschot Kempen. Every day, you investigate various files and transactions. The goal is to efficiently monitor all Dutch and Belgian clients so that the risk of a client possibly being involved in financial-economic crime is quickly identified, and so you can act immediately on any signals.

In addition, you will be working on:

  • Writing clear investigations and forming a well-founded opinion.
  • Identifying methods and trends in the area of financial-economic crime.
  • Proactively thinking about efficiency improvements, even beyond the boundaries of your own responsibilities.

Your talents

Analytical, eager to learn, communicative. This is how we can best describe you in the position of Specialist (AFC). Talents that you use to guide our customers in a constantly changing world every day. By thinking out of the box and asking the right questions you enable them to serve our clients in a client-focused and proactive manner, and to assess risks effectively.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed university (WO) or higher professional education (HBO), preferably in law, criminology, or economics.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience. This means, among other things, experience in assessing transactions and clients in the field of Financial Crime.
  • Knowledge of business processes, various research methods, and analytical techniques for client assessment.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (WWFT), sanctions legislation, and money laundering methods and techniques.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of French is not required, but is an advantage.
