You are interested in the financial sector and in Private Investments in particular. You enjoy learning all about illiquid investments and what is involved in Van Lanschot Kempen's operational process around illiquid investments. 


You can use your talents for this as a Trainee within the Solutions and Strategy Services team. Our team is part of Investment Management Clients, the asset manager of Van Lanschot Kempen. During your internship you will fully participate in our team and help with everything that has to do with Private Investments. 


During your internship you be the spider in the web between different internal departments, investors and external stakeholders. Within this, you will focus on: 
 
• Investment Process: 
- Responsible for the subscription process of new funds ('limited partnership agreements') and direct investments ('shareholder purchase agreements');  
- Overseeing processes for new investment entities and mandates;  
- Coordinating various processes related to legal, tax, compliance, and risk matters; 
 
• Valuation:  
- Reviewing and verifying the valuations of investments on a quarterly basis; 
- Providing support for the annual audit process;  
- Direct point of contact for the administrator, internal and external auditor, and input for the internal VLK valuation committee; 
 
• Cash Management:  
- Reviewing and processing capital calls and incoming distributions;  
- Management of credit facilities; 
 
• Data Management:  
- Responsible for verifying both the data used in the portfolio monitoring process and the delivery of reports;  
- Assisting in setting up a process for collecting, storing, and analyzing look-through portfolio data and sustainability information of underlying investments; freedom to contribute to the ongoing implementation of private investment tooling; 
 
You can join us as an intern starting in Q2 of 2025.

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree, for example in Economics, MER, International Business, Finance, Accounting; 
  • You have a proactive attitude that enables you to get the most out of your internship; 
  • You have a good command of the English language, both oral and written; 
  • You are available for at least 4 months, for 5 days a week.
