As an intern within our Digital Innovation & Analytics department, you’ll work in an agile Scrum environment alongside data scientists, engineers, full stack developers and business experts. You’ll be a full member of the Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) team, where we are transforming traditional Client Due Diligence into a continuous, data-driven and real-time process to monitor financial crime risks.

That is what you will use your talents for as an Ongoing due diligence Intern at Van Lanschot Kempen.

You will work on the ODD engine: a data-driven platform that processes client and transaction data and translates events into smart triggers and alerts. This engine replaces slow, periodic reviews with continuous monitoring — and you’ll help build it.

As an Ongoing Due Diligence intern, you’ll use your analytical and programming skills to further develop and improve this future-proof engine. You’ll experiment, analyse, build and test — and see your work directly contribute to how risk is detected in practice.


The planned start date of this internship is as soon as possible.


You also have the following tasks:

· Collaborating with a Product Owner and specialists to translate business needs into technical solutions

· Analysing data in Databricks and Azure SQL environments

· Working with Databricks Workflows, Notebooks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalogue, Asset Bundles

· Improving data quality and reliability by testing ETL pipelines

· Working with Azure DevOps

· Building and maintaining data engineering pipelines in Azure and Databricks

· Daily usage of AI tools, such as LLM (Open AI GPT), ML, Github Copilot, etc.

Dynamic, outgoing and digital savvy. This is how we can best describe you in the position of Ongoing due diligence intern... Talents that you use to guide our customers in a constantly changing world every day. By thinking out of the box and asking questions. And all will be well if you also are flexible, analytical, result-oriented and have a hands-on mentality. In addition:

• You are master's student in computer science, econometrics, statistics, data science or analytics with one or two courses in statistics, machine learning, data science or software development;

• You have hands-on knowledge on backend programming, preferably python & SQL;

• Front-end implementation in JavaScript/Node JS is a plus

• You have a good knowledge of Azure DevOps and Databricks;

• You are available for at least 5 months for 32 to 40 hours a week;

• You are passionate about AI and new technology and tools and like to work with data;

• Finance background and knowledge is a nice to have;

• You have a good mastery of English, both oral and written.

• Experience or desire to be exposed to AI tools, like LLM, ML, Agents
