As Legal Counsel Investment Management, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting our range of investment strategies and investment funds. Your main focus will be to provide legal support to our Private Equity team, as well as to our other alternative investment teams (Farmland, Non-Listed Real Estate, Infrastructure, Impact). You will work closely with colleagues across the organization, including Fund Management, investment teams and Fiduciary Management, and collaborate within a strong and experienced Legal team.
We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and curious lawyer who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is eager to deepen their expertise in complex and evolving legal topics.
Your work includes:
Supporting Van Lanschot Kempen’s alternative investment teams (Private Equity, Farmland, Non-Listed Real Estate, Infrastructure, Impact) with their investments;
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating investment management agreements, fund documentation, LPA’s, side letters;
Providing legal advice on investment management products, mandates and fund structures (UCITS, AIFs, discretionary mandates);
Identifying legal developments in (European) laws and regulations and contributing to their practical implementation.
Your talents
A master’s degree in Dutch or European law, including civil law.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in private practice as lawyer and/or inhouse legal counsel at a financial institution.
Knowledge of private equity structures and documentation, as well as financial regulatory law, particularly in the areas of collective investments and asset management - or the motivation to develop this knowledge further.
A keen desire to learn, coupled with the ambition and energy to develop yourself further, both professionally and personally, as well as incorporating and embracing AI in your work.
A pragmatic and solution-oriented approach, enabling you to translate legal issues into clear and actionable solutions for the business.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
You have excellent command of English, both in writing and orally.
