Investment Performance Internship

You are interested in investment management and enjoy working with data. You want to understand how investment performance is calculated, checked and translated into clear client stories. The main focus of this internship is improving and automating investment performance reporting processes.

That is what you will use your talents for as an Investment Performance Team intern at Van Lanschot Kempen. You will join the Investment Performance team, part of Investment Management Clients, and help structure data, improve processes and support performance commentary and reporting. During your internship, you are a full member of the team, with room for your own ideas and initiatives.

You also have the following tasks:

• improving and automating investment performance reporting processes;

• structuring, cleaning and analysing performance data, such as returns, benchmarks, currencies and hedges;

• automating the identification and explanation of performance anomalies for Reporting and Front Office;

• supporting the design of simple, practical workflows from performance data to reporting;

• testing and validating improvements to our performance reporting process, including AI-supported text generation where relevant.

Analytical, curious and hands-on. This is how we can best describe you in the position of Investment Performance Team intern. Talents that you use to guide our customers in a constantly changing world every day. By thinking out of the box and asking questions. And all will be well if you enjoy working with data and tools, pay attention to detail and like collaborating in a motivated team. You think ahead, ask questions and are keen to learn how performance and reporting work in practice. You also have:

• you are following a bachelor or master, for example in Econometrics, Business Mathematics, (Quantitative) Finance, AI/Data Science or Economics;

• you have a proactive attitude and like to take ownership of your work;

• you are comfortable working with data tools, for example Python, SQL, Power BI, FactSet or Excel, or are motivated to learn them during your internship;

• comfortable using common AI-powered tools to support your tasks;

• good mastery of English, both oral and written;

• you are available for at least 6 months, 5 days per week.
