Analyst – Traditional Manager Research

As an Analyst in Van Lanschot Kempen’s Traditional Manager Research (TMR) team, you'll join one of the largest and most experienced investment manager selection teams in The Netherlands. This role offers a strong foundation for a career in investment management, providing insights into markets and investing. Our team serves diverse clients, including pension funds, family offices, and private banking clients, and is known for high-quality due diligence on investment funds across asset classes.

Your responsibilities will include performing due diligence and monitoring funds of external investment managers in equity and fixed income asset classes. You'll be the primary analyst for certain categories and have opportunities to explore other asset classes, learning from seasoned professionals. Over time, you'll develop as an investment professional by engaging with investment managers and collaborating with experienced colleagues.

Key tasks include:

  • Conducting analyst coverage for (bespoke) indexing solutions in equity and fixed income.
  • Supporting the team in analysing actively managed strategies, searching for new strategies, and addressing manager-related inquiries from client teams, with potential to cover actively managed strategies.
  • Contributing to digitalization initiatives in research and monitoring processes, ensuring non-standardized processes are executed and monitored.
  • Communicating research and discussing ideas with client groups, such as our Private Bank Advisory business, alongside other team analysts.

Your talents

As an Analyst in Traditional Manager Research, you are proactive, curious, and passionate about investing. You use these talents to guide our clients in a dynamic world by thinking creatively and asking insightful questions. With a strong academic background, you are confident in challenging external investment managers and building long-term relationships. Additionally, you have:

 

  • A recent Master’s degree (0-2 years of work experience)
  • Understanding of equity and fixed income markets, and familiarity with investment strategies (active and passive).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills for assessing financial data and risk metrics
  • Comfort with digital tools and willingness to contribute to automation and process optimization.
  • Excellent English proficiency, both oral and written.
