Quant Research Internship – Developed Markets Equities

Join the Private Client Solutions (PCS) Equity team to help improving the stock selection screening tool, combining the quantitative and qualitative approach, selecting the most suitable metrics for the team with solid backtesting and academic literature support.

That is what you will use your talents for a quant internship at Van Lanschot Kempen. Utilize your quant skills to help the PCS Equity team with its bottom up stock selection process.

You also have the following tasks:

  • Build up a screening tool for bottom up stock selection
  • Research academic literature and backtest most suitable factors for the investment philosophy and process of the team, for example, earnings revision/surprise, leverage ratio, ROIC
  • Work with the internal VLK quant team as well as model validation team on this project
  • Develop and document the screening tool methodology systematically
  • Facilitate the team with other quant related or automation tasks

  • Strong quantitative skills to be able to conduct academic research and backtesting for various variables in different time frames, sectors, and regions
  • Good sense for equity investing and bottom up stock selection
  • Familiar with risk concepts such as tracking error and style tilts
  • Good mastery of English, both oral and written.

Currently the team is composed of 6 portfolio managers specializing in different areas/sectors.
