Business Analyst – Private Markets & Illiquid Operating Model

As a Business Analyst within Investment Management Technology & Analytics (IMTA) at Van Lanschot Kempen, you will contribute to shaping and implementing our future-proof operating model for private markets and illiquid assets. You work on both conceptual design and concrete delivery, translating both strategic and operational questions into actionable solutions.

You will operate in a dynamic environment where investment management, data, and technology come together, working closely with Product Owners, DevOps teams, Operations, and business stakeholders across the organization.

As a Business Analyst, you will focus on a broad range of topics related to our target operating model (TOM) for private markets. You will help define how we organize processes, data, and systems - and translate this into tangible solutions and improvements. You will contribute to the overarching goal, which is to enable scalable growth in Private Markets at Van Lanschot Kempen.

You will:

• Analyse and structure complex business questions around private markets and illiquid investments

• Contribute to the design and refinement of the target operating model (TOM)

• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories

• Work on downstream capabilities such as client and fund reporting

• Facilitate discussions and workshops to align stakeholders on solutions

• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to ensure effective implementation

• Ensure consistency across the end-to-end operating model and supporting processes

Your talents

You are analytical, structured, take ownership and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

You also bring:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or similar role

• Experience with or strong affinity for private markets / illiquid asset classes (e.g. private equity, real estate, infrastructure)

• Ability to translate complex topics into clear insights and solutions

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience working in an Agile / DevOps environment is a plus

• A proactive, hands-on mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo

• Strong command of English (Dutch is a plus)
