Product Owner - Data Management

As a Product Owner within the Data Management department, you are responsible for prioritizing and steering the backlog of a team, specifically the KCM / MB team. You work together in a team of specialists on the same or different topics. Together with the team of motivated IT Professionals, you are responsible for absorbing and transforming data to build datamarts and reports. These are impactful initiatives where you have the opportunity to take ownership. The lines of communication within our organization are short, so you can truly make a difference!

In your role as Product Owner, you have a strong affinity for the technical aspect of data for the Investment Manager and Management Reporting and closely follow its developments. You are familiar with the challenges that come with data, and the data of funds and transactions is not unfamiliar to you. Your main responsibilities are:

  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand the organization's needs and goals and determining how they can be achieved through our warehouses
  • Managing the product backlog and translating it into an effective product roadmap.
  • Leading planning sessions with the team and setting expectations for the delivery of new features.
  • Collaborating with the team to establish the right priorities and determine which initiatives will have the greatest impact on our users and the organization.
  • Effectively communicating with the team and stakeholders to align on product goals and priorities.
  • Stick to a plan and get the work finished.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: you can confidently address both, a Management Team and a development team and effectively convey your message.
  • A strong passion for technology and innovations is a plus.
  • You are curious and eager to learn.
  • You have analytical skills: you can map out business or technical processes and based on that, create epics and user stories.
  • You have experience with Agile work methods.
  • You are a team player and connector.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience within the IT workplace domain.
  • You are flexible and able to adapt quickly in a complex, dynamic organization.

The Data Management department is part of the Digital, Advanced Analytics & Technology (DAAT) cluster. DAAT has over 400 employees who play a central role within the organization. With the DAAT departments, we are building a world-class technology platform for asset management.


Data Management consists of approximately 60 colleagues divided into 7 different teams, each with their own focus. Together, the teams are responsible for the realization, testing, and management of the data warehouse. The roles within the department are very diverse, ranging from DWH Developer to Data Architect, from Administrator to Product Owner. The teams start the week together, often enjoying a Brabantian (vegetarian) sausage roll or another local delicacy. We regularly have drinks, and the FunStuff team organizes sports and culinary activities.

  • Flexible working hours; you come to the office in 's-Hertogenbosch for team meetings or brainstorming sessions twice a week and work from home by mutual agreement.
  • a gross monthly salary between €5,000 and €7,000, commensurate with your knowledge and experience.
  • a flexible budget of 19.47% of your gross salary (containing a 13th month, 8% holiday allowance & 7 extra legal leave days) You can utilize this by buying a bike, monthly gym membership, but also to save up for a sabbatical! It’s also possible to get the full budget paid out at any moment in the year.
  • a market competitive pension scheme. The exact contribution is based on your salary and age, generally, most people can expect around 20% contribution, which 4% is employee contribution.
  • 27 leave days of which 7 are part of the flexible budget.
